Workouts

I will like to start off this section by saying that I used to hate working out! I truly do mean to say HATE to its full meaning. Though I have always owned a gym membership, I have always hated attending one! I used to go to the gym, simply because I was paying for the membership and because I liked telling people I was going to the gym. Once, I was there I went straight for the magazines and read about the latest gossip while walking on the treadmill or elliptical. After the short 10 minutes of cardio I would do my round of weight lifting. I have to say that I have always love using the weight rather than doing cardio. I was better at this. I could lift heavier weights than many of the girls at the gym and I loved showing off. But! I had no real plan. I was just lifting to lift. I never counted sets or reps. So who knows how much I could actually lift! :0)

I recently made the decision to ask my doctor for help. I began taking an appetite suppressant to help me calm my constant desire to eat! Hungry or not. This pills gave me soooo much energy that I began to hit the gym. This time I actually had the energy to run on the treadmill! I took cardio classes and still lifted weights! These pills helped me get motivated to hit the gym hard!
Though they were giving me the energy, I still didn't have a set plan to go about my work outs. I began my research. I started to search the web for articles, YouTube and of course BlogSpot!
I became very inspired by other bloggers who had been or were currently on he same boat as me. They had successful stories of weight loss.
I came into realization that I was not the only one struggling with weight problems and lack of motivation. As I read the many wonderful storie, I began to try some of their workout routines and stuck to them for a week. No alternating or “making it my own” I just did what they did for one week. After a week of trying their workout routine, I added to that routine something else. After a while I was able to see what worked for me and what didn’t.

I have tried personal training lessons before, but unfortunately I could only afford two weeks’ worth of training. In two weeks you really do not see results or learn enough to make life changing choices.
I began taking classes at my local YMCA and one of them was Zumba.
Now I have been doing Zumba for almost three years now. (I will admit that not religiously, but I have done it quite a bit) I love it! It’s fun and it really does work your butt off. (It also depends on the instructor)
I have tried many Zumba instructors and by far I have only liked two of them. They keep their routines consistent and add some workout moves, rather than just Latin rhythms. They are awesome!
Zumba has definitely got me hooked on shaking what my momma gave me!

Since I started taking the pills I have found a passion for running! I just can’t stop running! Funny how I used to hate running and now is one of my fave things to do.
Cardio is definitely keeping my heart going for more fitness and desire to have a sexy body by my birthday. (June 22)
I do not want to make that my ultimate goal but it sure does sound good. My ultimate goal is to be healthy and continue to kick butt during my workouts. I do not want to go back to my old ways. I don’t want to pay a gym membership just to say I have access to a gym and attend one. I want people actually see that I have attended the gym and not just hear about how I “went” to the gym.
Results will speak louder than words.
